What is document classification?

The process of defining the level of sensitivity of the email or document. More specifically - how will the confidentiality and integrity of the company be affected if the email or document reaches the wrong hands (wrong hands can be both internal or external to the organization)


What is security awareness ?

(Wiki Value) Security awareness is the knowledge and attitude members of an organization possess regarding the protection of the physical and, especially, information assets of that organization. Many organizations require formal security awareness training for all workers when they join the organization and periodically thereafter.


Why is security awareness important?

We quote ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency): "Awareness of the risks and available safeguards is the first line of defense for the security of information systems and networks"


What is ODCI?

ODCI is a software tool that allows an organization to classify emails and documents and raise the level of security awareness. With the help of its "Microsoft Office add-ins menu" and simple popup windows ODCI allows you with one click of the mouse to set, edit or view your document classifications.

What parameters are configurable in ODCI?

  • Number of classification levels (5 by default)
  • Label for each level ("internal", "secret" etc)
  • Position of the classification label in the document (right/middle/left)
  • Colors and fonts for the classification label
  • Content and language of tooltips for each classification level
  • Language of the application interface (including direction for right-to-left languages)
  • URL of the help menu (can be internal or external site)

When should I configure the ODCI parameters?

We recommend that the parameter values be defined by the system owner before distributing the ODCI tool to the company. The configuration can be done using our web site and it is easy and fast.


My company works with terminal server/citrix servers and thin/rdp clients.
Can I install ODCI?

Yes you can. We installed the product on a citrix server and it works perfectly. Every user that logs-in to the server can classify his documents as if he is working on a standalone workstation.


I want to distribute the product in my enterprise. How do I do that?

You can either:

  • Run a silent setup in the login script
  • Use some software distribution tool (like Microsoft SMS, ca Unicenter, to distribute the MSI file we supply. See the admin guide for more instructions.

What languages do you support ?

We supply all languages that are supported by Windows - both for application interface (menus, screens) and for the labels themselves - See example.


Do you support right-to-left languages (Arabic, Hebrew)?

Yes we do. All relevant menus and forms will be shown in right-to-left format.


I got a document from company X, which also installed ODCI. What will happen to the document when I open it?

The classification will be shown with company X label, but the classification history (who labeled the documents in company X) will not be shown.


What version of office do you support?

We support Office2000, OfficeXP, Office2003 and Office2007.


What versions of operating system do you support?

We support Windows2000 (SP4 and above), Windows 2003, Windows XP and Vista.
